At 9 a.m. Monday, the jury in Richard Allen's murder trial returns to the Carroll County Courthouse to deliberate two counts of murder and two counts of murder during a kidnapping.

Allen, 52, is accused of killing Abigail “Abby” Williams and Liberty “Libby” German, who went missing on Feb. 13, 2017, while hiking the Monon High Bridge Trail. Their bodies were found dead the next day by searchers in the area.

After both sides concluded their closing arguments Thursday afternoon, the jury deliberated until just after 3:30 p.m. They returned at 9 a.m. Friday and continued deliberations until about 4 p.m. without reaching a verdict. After deliberating for several hours on Saturday, November 9, they had still not reached a verdict. Officials said at the end of Saturday's meeting they deliberated for about 14 hours in total.

Reporters from the Indianapolis Star and the Lafayette Journal & Courier will report on the ruling and next steps.
