Sideshows: 9 arrested in Richmond; 18-year-old killed in Salinas

RICHMOND, Calif. – Nine people were arrested for their alleged involvement in a side event in Richmond and four vehicles were also seized.

Police arrived at midnight on Saturday and found more than 200 people taking part and at least 50 vehicles blocking the road.

Officers said they disabled one of the vehicles with spikes and arrested the people inside who tried to escape.

Further south in Monterey County, 18-year-old Adrian Puga, a Salinas resident, died after he was shot during an incident at Prunedale and Blackie roads around 10:30 p.m. Saturday

There has been no public announcement of any arrests in connection with his death.
