Man arrested in Sunday killing on Corpus Christi's Southside

A man was arrested after Corpus Christi police said he fatally shot another man at a home on the Southside early Sunday morning.

Officers from the Corpus Christi Police Department were dispatched to the 5000 block of Moultrie Drive around 2:10 a.m. in reference to a shooting that resulted in injuries.

They arrived and discovered the victim had died from injuries sustained from a gunshot wound.

Investigators from the Criminal Investigation Department's Homicide Squad arrived on scene to begin the investigation. Their preliminary investigation revealed that the victim and the shooter, 34-year-old Cody Ramos, were arguing over property when Ramos pulled out a gun and shot the man.

Ramos was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to the city detention center for processing.

Police said the incident was not a random act of violence as the victim and perpetrator knew each other.
