13-year-old accused of carjacking in Hickory Hill

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A 13-year-old and an 18-year-old are accused of stealing a car in Hickory Hill.

Memphis police responded to a robbery on Eaglewood Drive on November 9th. A victim told police his Toyota Corolla was stolen.

A day later, officers found the Toyota in the area of ​​Hickory Hill Road and Ridgeway Boulevard.

When police tried to make a traffic stop, the driver refused.

After a chase, the driver crashed the car, disabling it.

Police said the 13-year-old boy, who was sitting in the passenger seat, fled the car but was taken into custody.

He is charged with theft of property valued between $2,500 and $10,000 and evading arrest on foot.

The driver, Keith Jackson, was arrested after a chase.

Keith Jackson, 18, was charged with aggravated robbery, evading arrest on foot, evading arrest in an automobile, reckless driving, theft of property valued between $2,500 and $10,000, auto theft and possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony accused.

His bail is set at $500,000.

Jackson had a warrant out for his arrest on Nov. 2, charging him with theft of property and evading arrest.
