77-year-old Colorado man arrested after being found with nearly 1.5 pounds of suspected meth

MOFFAT COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – After a 10-month investigation, Craig police said they have arrested a man believed to be supplying drugs to the Steamboat Springs and/or Hayden areas.

Police said Sunday that their All Crimes Enforcement Team arrested 77-year-old John Lewis, a Hayden resident. He was found with approximately 1.46 pounds of suspected meth.

Lewis was charged with unlawful distribution; Manufacture, delivery or sale of a controlled substance over 225 grams and special offenders because police said they imported or introduced meth from outside the state. He was booked into the Moffat County Jail.

The drug charges were a class one felony, and police said Lewis was being held on a $50,000 bond.

The Routt County Sheriff's Office and Moffat County Sheriff's Office assisted police with the investigation and arrest.
