Letters: Drew Brees inspires so many in our city | Opinions and editorials

Rosie, my wife of 92 years, was really cheerful before the Saints game against Denver. Why? Because their hero Drew Brees was inducted into the Saints Hall of Fame.

Because she has visual impairment, bad legs and no hearing, I've never seen her as emotional in a while as when I mentioned Brees was going to be inducted.

Brees is without a doubt the type of person who inspires people. First of all, he acknowledges his Creator, loves his family, is sincere in everything he says, and was grateful that the saints stood by him after his difficult ordeal.

He has given back to this community in every way possible. His presence has brought this city to life many times. Yes, the Saints will shine again, as they have so many times before. For my part, I appreciate him being here, especially to inspire my wife, and ultimately I hope he continues to inspire this city. Thank you, Drew Brees.

(Now I have to put Drew's pillow back in my wife's bed.)
