Selah police arrest woman accused of stabbing boyfriend | Crime and courts

A 30-year-old Selah woman is accused of stabbing her boyfriend during a fight on Friday.

Selah police, along with Yakima County sheriff's deputies, Yakima police and a Department of Fish and Wildlife officer, went to the 100 block of West Orchard Avenue on Friday around 1:25 p.m. for a report of a robbery.

When officers investigated, they discovered the couple had been arguing and the man had been stabbed in the chest, a Selah police news release said. He was taken to MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital with serious injuries, the release said.

The woman was booked into the Yakima County Jail, where she is being held on suspicion of first-degree assault, the release said. She is expected to appear in court Tuesday afternoon in Yakima County Superior Court.

The Yakima Herald-Republic typically does not identify defendants before criminal charges are filed.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Selah Police Detective Ryan Maybee at 509-698-7347. Tips can also be left with Yakima County Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or online at
