How George Clooney calmed Anna Kendrick's nerves on the set of Up in the Air

Anna Kendrick took a trip down memory lane this week and praised her 2009 In the air Co-star George Clooney.

“He's a real looker, George, and he works really hard to make you forget about it and feel good,” he said Pitch perfect star said about her experience acting alongside Clooney. Kendrick opened up to CNN's Chris Wallace, recalling her memories of the filming In the air Scenes with Clooney over a decade ago.

“The very first shot he and I did together was my first shot on film,” Kendrick said. “We were standing on this conveyor belt waiting, the camera was pretty far away, and he said, 'God, do you get nervous on the first day?' I get so nervous. Are you becoming insecure? I'm getting really insecure.' And I thought, “Yeah, I do, George, I do.” I get really nervous. I become totally insecure.' And he did the whole thing like, 'Yeah, I'm worried, did they even hire the right guy?'”

Kendrick's anecdote continued: “It took years until this memory suddenly popped into my brain and I thought, 'No, he's not doing that.' No, he doesn't get nervous and he doesn't get insecure or worried that they've hired the wrong person.” Maybe he dealt with this earlier in his career, but it was a great gift for him to say that, because it felt like, 'Oh, okay, I can bring my fear into the moment and someone will hold space for it and 'Be cool with it.' And it really, really calmed me down. And was a complete fiction.”

In the airThe film, directed by Jason Reitman, also starred Vera Farmiga and Jason Bateman. Kendrick and Clooney received Oscar nominations for their roles, as well as awards for Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Director and Best Picture.
