Ex-Broncos DC Jack Del Rio arrested for OWI

Former Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio, 61, was arrested last Friday for driving a vehicle while intoxicated, it was reported Monday. According to ESPN's Adam Rittenberg, Del Rio crashed into a street sign and destroyed a fence.

Del Rio was the defensive coordinator in Denver under head coach John Fox from 2012-14 before becoming the head coach in Oakland and Washington.

Before his arrest, Del Rio was a senior adviser to University of Wisconsin head coach Luke Fickell. After his arrest, Del Rio resigned from his position, according to ESPN.

“I am grateful to Coach Fickell and the University of Wisconsin for the opportunity to work with such a talented coaching and support staff and some of the best young soccer players in the country,” Del Rio said in a statement Monday. “I have decided to step down from my position with the team so that they can concentrate fully on the rest of the season.”
