Trump picks South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem for Homeland Security

Donald Trump taps the governor of South Dakota Kristi Noem CNN said he should take over the Department of Homeland Security, picking a loyalist once considered a potential vice presidential candidate for a job that includes securing the U.S. border and carrying out a promised mass deportation.

Noem would join in Tom HomanTrump's choice as the White House's “border czar,” and Stephen Miller, an immigration hardliner, in the administration after the president-elect takes office on Jan. 20, CNN said, citing two people familiar with the decision were mentioned. However, unlike Homan and Miller, Noem's position requires Senate confirmation.
