Women arrested in various drug cases

43-year-old Kelly Christine Prather of Grandview Lane in Lincolnton and 44-year-old Shante Marie Heafner of Broome Street in Lincolnton were arrested by Lincoln County Sheriff's Office deputies on separate counts.

Prather is charged with three felony counts each of sale and delivery of Schedule III controlled substances and possession with intent to sell and deliver Schedule III controlled substances. Heafner is charged with three felony counts each of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance and one count of selling and delivering a Schedule II controlled substance.

In September 2024, the Narcotics Unit received information from citizens in Lincoln County that Kelly Christine Prather was selling Suboxone strips and pills in the Lincoln County area. Based on this information, narcotics investigators initiated an undercover operation in which officers made purchases from the suspect.

In the other case, the Drug Enforcement Administration received information that Shante Marie Heafner was selling methamphetamine in Lincoln County. During the investigation, undercover officers purchased meth from Heafner at her apartment last Wednesday (November 6).

Both suspects were detained at the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center following their arrest. Prather was jailed on a $15,000 bond and Heafner was given a $55,000 bond. Prather has a Nov. 26 appearance in District Court and Heafner is scheduled to appear in District Court on Dec. 2.
