Road closed due to fatal crash in Phoenix

PHOENIX (AZFamily) – A busy road in Phoenix remains closed after a fatal crash between a tractor-trailer and another vehicle Monday evening.

Phoenix police responded to the crash on 51st Avenue near Interstate 10 around 10 p.m.

A family member of those involved in the crash confirmed to Arizona Family that one person had died and another was in the hospital.

Police have not yet released any information about what led to this accident.

Police have closed 51st Avenue from Roosevelt to McDowell and the I-10 exit to 51st Avenue.

Due to the accident, street lights in the area were also out.
