Houston man and woman arrested for mail theft and identity fraud against over 50 residents

Two thieves are facing serious charges after they allegedly used a stolen email key to gain access to the personal information of more than 50 Houston residents.

Victoria Renee Martinez and Christopher Manley were taken into custody on Monday, November 11, after Harris County officials discovered they had used a criminally tampered mailbox key to access and steal mailboxes in the area.

Both suspects are now facing felony charges including mail theft, unlawful use of a criminal instrument and fraudulent possession of identification information.

An indictment filed against Martinez and Manley specifically alleges intent to defraud or harm elderly victims because some of the stolen identifying information belonged to older adults.

Investigators emphasize the potential magnitude of this theft because of recovered identifying information in the documents, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth and government-issued IDs.

The couple is currently being held in the Harris County Jail. Martinez's first court appearance is scheduled for November 12th, and Manley's next appearance is scheduled for November 19th.

KPRC 2 has requested the mugshots of Martinez and Manley.
