15 arrested for retail theft in Pleasant Hill and Walnut Creek

In separate operations, the Pleasant Hill and Walnut Creek Police Departments conducted a proactive retail theft response operation that resulted in multiple arrests.

According to the Walnut Creek Police Department, they conducted a proactive retail crime response operation that resulted in nine arrests related to retail theft. This promotion is part of ongoing efforts to protect local businesses and ensure a safe shopping experience for everyone. Below are the adult suspects arrested during yesterday's operation:

  • Julio Barrera, 27 years old, Oakland resident
  • David Ford, 41 years old, resident of San Pablo

  • Brian Jacobs, 39 years old, resident of San Francisco

  • Emma Christensen, 35 years old, lives in San Francisco

  • Edward Gonzales, 44 years old, resident of Bay Point

  • Dominic Antoine, 27 years old, Oakland resident

  • The three people arrested were teenagers.

On Saturday, November 9, Pleasant Hill Police conducted an anti-theft operation at Target that resulted in six arrests. Often these theft arrests lead to other criminal issues, all of which are referred to the district attorney. Those arrested include

  • Andy Saechao 29 of Concord
  • Daniel Cabillio 34 from Concord

  • Russell Reese 31 of Antioch

  • Amari Cavness 21 of Richmond

  • Donald Freeman 40 of Pleasant Hill

  • Merlin Ramos Guajaco 25 from Concord

The anti-theft measures come as California voted 69% to pass Prop 36 last week and will now classify some misdemeanor theft and drug offenses as felonies, reversing portions of Prop 47. Penalties for theft increase depending on the value of the property stolen.
