Solon man pleads guilty to killing his father

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A 34-year-old Solon man pleaded guilty to killing his father.

Robert Gullia pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, aggravated assault and offenses against a human corpse.

Judge Michael Shaughnessy of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas sentenced Gullia to a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 25.5 years in Lorain Correctional Institution.

At approximately 10:50 a.m. on November 22, 2023, the victim's wife called 911 to report that her husband, Theodore Gullia, 65, was not breathing.

When officers arrived at the home in the 34700 block of Sherwood Dr. When they arrived, they found Gullia deceased with “visible injuries to the head and other areas.”

Robert was arrested at the scene.

Police added that Robert had spent the previous night alone at home with his father and attacked him with an object.
