GLADIATOR II star Denzel Washington confirms he will star in BLACK PANTHER 3 after Ryan Coogler wrote him a role

We've been wondering for a long time if Denzel Washington would finally agree to star in a superhero project; Unfortunately, it never seemed particularly likely given how selective the two-time Oscar winner is about the films he stars in.

Makes the rounds to advertise Gladiator IIWashington looked ahead to what's next and confirmed he'll be starring Black Panther 3…a film that hasn't been officially announced by Marvel Studios yet!

“For me, it’s about the filmmaker, especially at this point in my career.” The screen icon says in the video below. “I'm only interested in working with the best. I don't know how many more films I'll do; probably not that many. I want to do things I haven't done yet… Ryan Coogler is writing a part for me in the next Black Panther.

Washington hasn't revealed any details beyond that, so we don't know who he's playing against. However, social media is already abuzz with ideas, including the threequel's main villain (whoever that may be) and Blue Marvel.

The actor's awards and previous roles are too numerous to list, although some of his most famous roles are included Training day, Malcolm X, Man on fire, Inside the human beingAnd The equalizer Trilogy.

Black panther Star Chadwick Boseman was frequently referred to as “the next Denzel Washington,” and Washington paid tribute shortly after the actor's death following a four-year battle with colon cancer in 2020.

“He was a gentle soul and a brilliant artist who will forever be remembered for his iconic performances throughout his short but illustrious career.” he said. “God bless Chadwick Boseman.”

What you may not know is that the two men had a history; When Phylicia Rashad mentored Boseman while teaching at Howard University, he was accepted into the British American Drama Academy's Midsummer Program, but could not afford to attend. She called Washington and he agreed to pay the bill.

“As fate would have it, I was one of the students he paid for.” Boseman said in 2019. “Imagine receiving a letter saying that your tuition for this summer has been paid and that your patron was none other than the stupidest actor in the world.”

“Without Denzel Washington there is no Black Panther” he added. “And not just because of me, but because of my entire cast – this generation – stands on your shoulders.”
