School bus accident in Beaufort County

BEAUFORT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Eastern Carolina officials are responding to a school bus accident Tuesday morning.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol said it received a call around 7:30 a.m. about a bus collision on southbound US 17 near Mary Street

The collision appears to have occurred south of Chocowinity, near Chocowinity Primary School.

According to police, there was a collision between a car and a bus with an unknown number of students on board.

According to the Highway Patrol, the bus driver was not injured.
