Teen charged with Kinston murder

KINSTON, NC (WITN) – A second person is facing charges in a shooting that killed a Kinston man and injured several others.

According to Kinston Police, Savannah Locklear was arrested today near a convenience store on East Highland Avenue.

The 18-year-old is charged with murder, three counts of attempted first-degree murder, three counts of discharging a weapon into occupied property and three counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

Korie Williams was killed in the Sept. 25 shooting in the 300 block of South McDaniels Street.

Two other victims, 18-year-old Yahmmek Coward of Kinston and Lyasia Lawson, were treated and released from hospital. According to police, another victim, Deshakeen Turnage, was not injured in the shooting.

Police are still searching for 21-year-old Bryson Bradley, who was named as a suspect in the murder last month.
