Two McGraw residents charged after domestic incident – One pushes officer; Resists Arrest – X101 Always Classic

On Saturday, November 9th, at approximately 4:30 in the afternoon, officers with the Cortland County Sheriff's Office responded to a domestic incident at 3 Church Street in the Village of McGraw. After officers arrived and while they were conducting their investigation, 32-year-old Jenna J. ChesebroAnd Daniel J. Vanvalkenburgh, both of McGrawintentionally hindered officers from conducting their investigation.

The sheriff's office says Chesebro then intentionally pushed an officer, while Vanvalkenburgh failed to comply with officers' commands and resisted arrest. The incident occurred in the presence of a child.

Chesebro was arrested and charged with obstruction of governmental administration on the second count, endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors, and harassment on the second count, a misdemeanor.

Vanvalkenburgh was arrested and charged with obstruction of governmental administration, resisting arrest, endangering the welfare of a child, all misdemeanors, and harassment, a misdemeanor.

Both were taken to the Sheriff's Office where they were processed and then transported to the Cortland County Jail. They were later charged under the centralized prosecution process and released on their own recognizance. Both are scheduled to be arraigned in Cortlandville Town Court later this month.
