Seven local Wegmans stores are hosting a prescription drug drive Saturday

ROCHESTER, NY – Wegmans is partnering with local law enforcement agencies to conduct collection events for unwanted prescription medications on Saturday, October 26th.

The aim of the campaigns is to prevent the misuse or overdose of prescription drugs. A total of 45 Wegmans stores across the country are participating.

Participating locations in Rochester:

  • Brockport
  • Calkins Rd
  • Chili Paul
  • Holt Rd
  • Irondequoit
  • Lyell Ave
  • Penfield

The activities take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Only pills and patches, no liquids or needles, will be accepted. People can give the pills without any questions asked. Wegmans says studies show more than half of people who abuse prescription drugs get them from family or friends or take them without asking.

  • Pennsylvania: Allentown, Bethlehem, Collegeville, Concordville, King of Prussia, Lancaster, Montgomeryville, Nazareth, Warrington, Williamsport
  • Virginia: Charlottesville, Fredericksburg, Midlothian, Short Pump
