According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple plans to add more health-related features to future AirPods models, and the upcoming Powerbeats Pro 2 could provide a hint.

We previously reported that the Powerbeats Pro 2 will offer heart rate monitoring during exercise, and perhaps this feature will expand to AirPods in the future. Based on our iOS 18 code results, you can connect the Powerbeats Pro 2 to fitness equipment like a treadmill to measure heart rate, and the data will be visible in the Health app and other supported apps on iPhone. Apple had previously announced that the Powerbeats Pro 2 would be released in 2025, and the AirPods Pro 3 were also rumored to launch next year.

In fact, there have been several rumors about heart rate monitoring for the AirPods Pro, but the feature has not yet been implemented. Now that the feature appears to be ready for Powerbeats Pro 2, it could finally be available for AirPods as well.

According to rumors, the AirPods will also have body temperature measurement in the future, after the Apple Watch Series 8 and newer models have a wrist temperature measurement function.
