Hundreds of rounds of ammunition explode in violent crash in Granby – NBC Connecticut

According to police, hundreds of rounds of ammunition were detonated when a car caught fire following an accident in Granby on Monday evening.

Officers responded to Barkhamsted Road around 9:50 p.m. after receiving word of an accident and found a car on fire.

According to police, several hundred rounds of ammunition that were in the car were detonated.

The two occupants of the vehicle were able to get out and suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The Lost Acres Fire Department quickly extinguished the fire and Granby Ambulance treated the occupants.
