3 found dead in Cincinnati home after hours-long SWAT standoff ended

CINCINNATI – Police discovered three people – two adults and a juvenile – dead in a College Hill home after an hours-long SWAT standoff.

Officers responded to the 1000 block of Springbrook Drive shortly before 8:30 a.m. Thursday for “unknown issues,” police said. When they arrived, they learned there was an adult male inside with a knife.

After hours of negotiations, the adult male was taken into custody and taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge said at the scene, officers found three people dead with stab wounds inside the home. The suspect also suffered self-inflicted stab wounds.

Police have not identified the victims or their relationship to the suspect. At this point, police only reported that the three dead were two adults and a juvenile.

This is a developing story, WCPO will update as more information becomes available.
