'Wheel of Fortune' contestant goes viral with 'worst' answer ever

“Wheel of Fortune” never ceases to surprise its fans.

Contestant Will Jordan of Wethersfield, Connecticut, gave a botched answer on Monday's episode that went viral.

He was one of three former military personnel who took part in the game show in honor of Veterans Day.

Jordan started off strong in the first game, solving much of the word puzzle correctly, so the prompt read: “_ _ _ E _ OURSE _ FA ROUN_ OF A _ _ _ AUSE.”

The experienced police officer replied, “Treat yourself to a round of sausage” – which was wrong.

“I'm sorry. That's not it,” host Ryan Seacrest told Jordan.

Air Force veteran Kitina Thomas, the next candidate, gave the correct answer: “Give yourself a round of applause.”

“Although, Will, I kind of liked yours better,” Seacrest, 49, jokingly told Jordan, adding, “That sounds better than just clapping right now.”

Jordan finished the game in third place with $8,000. Thomas took second place with $10,500 and Army Reserves veteran Chantel Toran took first place with $13,000.

After the first game, Jordan spoke to social media correspondent Maggie Sajak – also daughter of retired broadcaster Pat Sajak – about his brutal mishap.

“I'm telling you, when the lights are on and the stars, Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White, are there, I just go blank,” he explained.

Jordan then told Maggie, 29: “If your retired dad sees the show, maybe has a beer and laughs, it will be worth it.”

Maggie promised that she and Pat would watch the episode once it aired, while Jordan admitted he would be ridiculed for his mistake.

“I'll definitely have sausages in my locker and in the police car when I get back, so we'll try to have some fun with it,” he said.

Seacrest, who replaced 78-year-old Pat as host this year, then joined the two with a white card he signed for Jordan's family.

“You got a really big autograph,” Maggie said to Jordan.

“This is going to be really special,” Jordan said.

Maggie then gave Jordan a pep talk and said, “Don’t worry about it, Will. Even if they put sausages in your locker room now.”

Jordan's incorrect guess sparked a huge reaction from fans of the game show on social media.

“I've never laughed so hard 😂😂😂 hysterical,” one fan wrote in the comments section of the TikTok clip of the incident.

“That was painful,” wrote another viewer.

Someone else said: “Worst but best wheel performance I've ever seen.” lmfao. I love this guy.”

“Oh, he’s a good sport. It's much easier to solve it on the couch than under the lights and in front of the camera!” another comment read.

A fifth fan joked: “Yeah the lights were definitely on and no one was home 😂.”

Another viewer added: “I can't be the only one who shouted at her TV.”

Even the show joked about Jordan's epic fail, captioning the TikTok with, “Playing #WheelOfFortune on stage is a whole different ball game than at home, but Will was a great guy with his fail!” 🙂‍↕️.”
