Former Lions WR Josh Reynolds shot twice and was treated for “minor injuries.”

Former Detroit Lions wide receiver Josh Reynolds was shot twice in an incident outside a Denver strip club, according to a report from 9NEWS in Denver.

According to the story and court documents, Reynolds, who is currently on injured reserve with the Denver Broncos, suffered two gunshot wounds, one to the left arm and one to the back of the head. While the story did not provide an update on his condition, the Broncos released a statement Thursday saying Reynolds was being treated for minor injuries.

“Josh Reynolds was the victim of a shooting in Denver on Friday and was treated for minor injuries. Out of respect for the legal process, we will leave further comment on this matter to the authorities,” the statement said.

Reynolds was a prominent member of the Lions' offense from 2021 to 2023. In 38 total games with Detroit, Reynolds caught 97 passes for 1,393 yards and 10 touchdowns. The Lions expressed a desire to re-sign him this offseason but were unable to come to an agreement.

Instead, the veteran receiver signed a two-year contract with the Broncos. He has played in five games for Denver so far this year before being placed on injured reserve two weeks ago with a finger injury that required surgery.

If there are any further updates on the situation – particularly regarding Reynolds' health – we will update this post with news as it comes in.
