Philadelphia man admits to dealing drugs in Monongalia County

CLARKSBURG, W.Va (WDTV) – A Philadelphia man admitted to drug trafficking in Monongalia County in federal court on Tuesday.

Rodney Johnson, 47, admitted his role in an organization that delivered large quantities of methamphetamine, fentanyl and cocaine to north central West Virginia, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Johnson helped transport significant quantities of the drugs from Philadelphia to Morgantown and used several properties in Monongalia County to store the drug supplies, court documents say.

Officials said he faces up to 20 years in federal prison for each of the seven counts to which he pleaded guilty, and a judge will set sentencing at a later date.

The case was investigated by the Mon Metro Drug Task Force.
