The Wheel of Fortune contestant's incredibly wrong answer results in people giving him a round of sausage

A “Wheel of Fortune” contestant has gone viral for his incredibly wrong answer on the Nov. 11 episode of the show.

The correct answer to the riddle in question was: “Give yourself a round of applause.” With only a few tiles missing, the board read “___E _OURSE_F A ROUN_ OF A___AUSE” before contestant Will Jordan gave his answer.

“Treat yourself to a round of sausage,” he advised – which was obviously wrong for several reasons.

A clip that has now been viewed over half a million times on X shows Jordan's comical “misfire.”

After Jordan's fellow contestant Kitina correctly solved the puzzle, host Ryan Seacrest joined in the fun.

“Will, I kind of like yours better,” he joked. “That sounds better than just clapping now.”

Following the sausage's silly solution, the game show's social correspondent and daughter of former host Pat Sajek, Maggie Sajek, got Jordan's thoughts on his “Missolve” moment.

“I'm telling you, when the lights are on and you know, the stars and Ryan Seacrest, Vanna White…I just go blank,” Jordan said. “But if your retired dad sees this show, maybe drinks a beer and laughs, then it’s worth it.”

Sajak promised him that her father would tune in to the episode, while Seacrest joined the video with a signature cue card for Jordan's family.

“Playing 'Wheel of Fortune' on stage is a very different game than at home, but Will was a great sport about his bad decisions! #misssolve #WheelOfFortune,” the show captioned the post.

Jordan is a retired Coast Guard veteran who currently works as a School Resource Officer with the Rocky Hill Police Department in Connecticut.

As the holiday season approaches, Jordan is turning his mistake into positive action by using his newfound celebrity to raise donations for the Rocky Hill Human Services Food Bank, according to his police department's social media.

“When I come back I'll be sure to have sausages in my locker and in the police car so we'll try to have some fun with it,” Jordon told Sajak in her Instagram post.

A sausage manufacturer takes advantage of the joke.

Johnsonville is giving its customers “a round of sausage” (or more realistically, a free Johnsonville product) when they post an act of kindness they have done or witnessed using #KeepTheInternetJuicy.

“Will inspired us,” her post reads.
