Cordova man accused of purchasing child pornography; is charged in Indiana

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Memphis police have arrested a Cordova man who has been charged with multiple counts of child exploitation out of Indiana.

In January, Indiana State Police investigators received a tip that someone was purchasing child pornography images online.

According to police, the investigation revealed that the owner of the online account was 23-year-old Lance Smith.

Last week, Memphis police served the arrest warrant and a search warrant on Smith's home.

Electronic Detection K-9 “Glitch” located several seized electronic devices.

Smith was taken into custody and is awaiting extradition to Indiana.

He is accused of two cases of child exploitation and three cases of disseminating content harmful to minors.
