Brother charged with shooting, killing brother in Polk Co.

DALLAS Ore Mountains (KPTV) – A Dallas man was arrested Saturday after he allegedly shot and killed his brother.

Alonzo Rowell, 51, was charged with second-degree murder, first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and recklessly endangering another person.

According to the Polk County District Attorney's Office, Rowell allegedly shot his 54-year-old brother, Tony Miller, at one of their homes before driving to the Oregon State Penitentiary in Salem, Rowell's former workplace.

He then reportedly had a brief standoff with the Salem Police SWAT team before being arrested.

Rowell was arraigned Tuesday and was denied bail. His next court date is scheduled for November 19th.
