Amazon Sunset's Freevee ad-supported streaming video platform

Amazon is shutting down Freevee, its free ad-supported video-on-demand service. This platform hosted both original programming and more than Prime Video programming. Freevee will be phased out in the coming weeks and its content will be available as part of Prime Video. Prime Video's ad-supported tier is included with Amazon's Prime membership for $15 per month.

“To provide customers with an easier viewing experience, we have decided to phase out the Freevee branding,” an Amazon spokesperson said . “There will be no change to the content available to Prime members and a wide range of free streaming content will continue to be accessible to non-Prime members, including select Amazon MGM Studios originals, a variety of licensed films and series, and a Extensive library of FAST channels – all available on Prime Video.”

The free viewing platform has undergone several rebrands since its original launch as IMDb Freedive in January 2019. In April 2022 she will be in her final phase as a freevee.
