Nurse accused of stealing identity of elderly patient in Windsor Locks – NBC Connecticut

A nurse has been arrested after she allegedly stole the identity of a patient under her care to open a credit card in her name in Windsor Locks.

Windsor Locks police said they received a complaint of identity theft involving a 94-year-old resident.

Investigators determined that the patient's home care caregiver had obtained personal identification information to open a Chase Amazon Prime Visa credit card in her name.

According to police, the caregiver spent over $9,000 on goods and services over the course of approximately three months.

Investigators arrested the nurse and she faces a charge of first-degree identity theft. She was released on $25,000 bail and is expected to appear in court on November 20.
