The Detroit Pistons' home game against the Miami Heat on Wednesday was interrupted for a long time in the third quarter.

While defending, Tim Hardaway Jr. was accidentally elbowed by Heat center Bam Adebayo. He fell and got back up, but fell again while blocking a layup attempt from Tyler Herro. Jalen Duren also defended himself against the shot and hit the back of Hardaway's head with his knee as he fell.

Hardaway lay on the ground for a long time, surrounded by teammates and the Pistons' medical staff. With help he tried to get up after a few minutes and sat down again. Eventually a wheelchair came out for him and he was eliminated from the game.

Hardaway, a Michigan graduate, was one of the Pistons' top players early in the season. He entered Wednesday's game averaging 12.6 points as the starter and hitting 47% of his 3-point shots.
