Man convicted of drunk driving in Henderson crash that killed mother and two children

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The man charged in a drunk driving crash that killed a mother and her two sons has been convicted.

Darryl Smith, 36, was sentenced Tuesday to 16 to 40 years in prison, with time served counted for approximately six months.

According to a police report, Smith told officers he drank three glasses of wine and some cough syrup before the accident.(Courtesy of LVMPD)

The accident occurred Jan. 7 near Lake Mead Parkway and Grand Cadence Drive in Henderson. Rebecca Post, 38, and her five and six-year-old sons Leo Post-Quintanilla and Achilles Quintanilla were killed in the accident.

According to a police report, Smith admitted to drinking alcohol and taking cough syrup before the accident.
