Man previously accused of dog fighting now faces animal cruelty charges

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – An Axis man previously accused of organizing a dog fighting ring is back in prison tonight.

Jeff Marks Jr. now faces 25 charges of cruelty to a cat or dog.

In June, he surrendered and was released from jail on bail after being accused of dog fighting and marijuana. This raid resulted in the arrest of 29 additional people for alleged involvement in a dog fighting ring.

Jail records show Marks has a bond hearing scheduled for Wednesday.
