(This story has been updated to accurately reflect the most current information.)

One person is dead and four others are injured after a two-vehicle collision on southbound Interstate 75 at State Road 326. Here's what we know about the accident:

Investigating authority:Florida Highway Patrol.

What time was the crash? Marion County Fire Rescue spokesman James Lucas said crews were assigned to the crash at 3:27 p.m. and arrived at 3:33 p.m. Rescue workers began the rescue at 3:37 p.m. and the rescue was completed at 3:51 p.m., Lucas said.

The spokesman said the victim was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m

Officers on scene said four other people who were in the vehicle were transported to HCA Florida Ocala Hospital. Police officials said two were in critical condition and two others were in serious condition. Authorities said the injured were all adult men.

What type of vehicles were involved in the accident? A Honda Odyssey minivan and a tractor-trailer.

What happened? FHP officials said the minivan was in the inside lane when it was discovered that the driver had lost control of the vehicle for an unknown reason at the top of the hill at mile marker 358, which is just past the State Road 326 exit. The vehicle turned left and entered the grassy median near the guardrail.

The delivery truck then got back onto the road, where it was rammed by an Amazon semi-trailer, the driver of which was unable to avoid the collision. From there, the minivan veered off the road and down a grassy embankment, where it eventually stopped.

A man who was a passenger in the minivan died next to the vehicle. The truck driver is a 59-year-old man from Hallandale Beach.

Officials said their investigation is still ongoing as they try to identify the survivors and also find out where the vehicles were going. The driver of the minivan was identified as a 40-year-old man from Immokalee.

How long was the road closed? Southbound traffic on I-75 was stopped following the crash and did not reopen until just before 6:30 p.m. Southbound traffic was backed up for approximately six miles and vehicles were diverted onto SR 326. The highway was closed so police could investigate the situation. After the accident, first responders were able to treat the injured.
