The Oregon men's basketball team continues its first non-conference home games against Portland on Tuesday.

The Ducks (2-0) have rattled off two impressive wins in a row heading into their 8 p.m. match against the Pilots (1-1) at Matthew Knight Arena.

Oregon opened the season with a 91-76 win over an experienced UC Riverside team and then beat Montana 79-48 last Friday.

The Ducks have five players averaging double-digit points, led by the starting frontcourt tandem of center Nate Bittle (16.5 points per game) and forward Kwame Evans Jr. (14.5). These two also average 10.0 and 6.5 rebounds, respectively.

Starting guard TJ Bamba (13.0) and small forward Brandon Angel (12.0) also average more than 10 points per game. Reserve guard Jadrian Tracey scored exactly 10.0 points.

As a team, Oregon is averaging 85.0 points, 43.5 rebounds, shooting 47.6% from the field and is starting to get national attention. The Ducks received 37 votes in the USA Today Coaches poll released Monday. It was the fifth most votes for a team that wasn't ranked in the top 25.

“We’re playing well,” Evans said after the win against Montana. “We look really good offensively. We're playing better than we did at the beginning of last year. Defensively, we’re starting to come together. … The chemistry is starting to click.”

The Pilots are coming off a 94-53 loss to UC Santa Barbara on Saturday. Portland was picked eighth in the preseason coaches poll for the newly expanded West Coast Conference.
