Two dead in Jackson Twp. Crash on Tuesday

JACKSON Twp., Ohio (WTVG) – Two people were killed in a three-vehicle crash on State Route 81 near the intersection of Hardin Road Tuesday afternoon.

According to a news release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP), an 84-year-old woman from Columbus was driving south on Hardin Road. The news release said she failed to stop at a stop sign and was struck by a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

After the first accident, the 84-year-old's vehicle was hit again, this time by another car. Her car then left the road.

The 84-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and a passenger in her car was taken to Lima Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The drivers of the other two cars each suffered minor injuries in the accident.

The accident is currently under investigation, but officials do not believe alcohol or drugs were involved.
