Man arrested for burglary and violating protective order

CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. (KFVS) – A 26-year-old Caruthersville man is accused of breaking into a home and violating a protective order on Tuesday, November 12th.

According to a probable cause statement, James E. Heathcock went to a Caruthersville home around 12:30 p.m. to ask a person he was legally ordered to stay away from to delete something from his phone.

The victim told officers that Heathcock took her phone to remove the item, closed and locked the door and asked her not to obey a protection order.

The victim then told Heathcock to leave and he did.

Officers later arrested Heathcock for first-degree burglary and violating the adult protective order as a first offense.

Heathcock was booked into the Pemiscot County Justice Center, where he is being held without bail.
