Passenger in two-vehicle crash airlifted to out-of-state hospital

PEMISCOT COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) – Emergency crews responded to the scene of a two-vehicle crash in Pemiscot County on Tuesday, November 12th.

The accident occurred around 11 a.m. on Route D, about 2 miles west of Caruthersville.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when the driver of a westbound Ford F150 crossed into the path of a southbound GMC.

The passenger of the van, a 75-year-old Hayti woman, was seriously injured in the accident. She was flown to a hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, for treatment.

MSHP said the driver of the truck, a 62-year-old man from Hayti, and the driver of the GMC, a 50-year-old man from Dyersburg, Tennessee, were uninjured and both men were wearing seatbelts.

The highway patrol reported that the woman was not wearing a seatbelt and both vehicles were totaled in the accident.
