Benny Blanco Reveals He and Selena Gomez Wake Up Surprisingly Early (Exclusive)

They're one of Hollywood's busiest power couples, but Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez place a lot of value on their time together.

The music mega-producer — who is featured in PEOPLE's 2024 “Sexiest Man Alive” issue — tells PEOPLE exclusively that it's important for him and Gomez to start the day relaxed.

“I’m a real morning person. That's my favorite time to spend with Sel because we both get up very early,” he says of Gomez, who gained Oscar buzz for her role in “The Movie.” Emilia Perez. “We usually have breakfast at 6:15 a.m. It’s like our moment before the rest of the world wakes up.”

Although there are days when he would Blanco, 36, likes to sleep in and says he usually gets up before dawn.

“I get tired at night. I'm like an old man. I want to go to bed early. I want to lie down. I want to be horizontal as quickly as possible throughout the day,” he jokes. “I still wake up at 6 a.m. no matter what time [I go to bed]. I go to bed at 5:30 am [a.m.] and I'm awake at 6:15 a.m.'”

In the in-depth interview, in which Blanco shared eight rules for being a sexy gentleman, the TikTok sensation highlighted the importance of putting your partner's needs first.

“I give my all on every date. We give everything for each other. At one point Sel said, 'Oh, I want to take you on a date.' I thought, 'Oh, that's so cute.' Then we went somewhere and she rented a whole botanical garden for me,” he remembers.

And for Valentine's Day, Blanco returned the favor by making all of Gomez's favorite foods, including homemade movie theater nachos and fried pickles.

“It doesn’t mean spending your entire bank account. “It means just paying attention: Listen to the things they like when you talk,” he says of how to make someone feel loved.

Blanco has been together since July 2023 and says he is still grateful to have Gomez, 32, by his side.

“I'm so happy. I met my best friend. I have a best friend who I can kiss too. “I have a really best friend with whom I can do anything in the world, and every day is the best day of my life,” he says. “I sound like a loser, but it’s amazing!”
