PIJ releases new life sign video of hostage Alexander Troufanov – Israel News

The terrorist organization Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) released on Wednesday a new life-sign video of Russian-Israeli hostage Alexander Troufanov, who has been held captive since October 7.

In the video, Troufanov said that he and the other hostages were running out of food and basic hygiene items. He called on the Israeli public to continue pushing for an agreement to repatriate the hostages.

He also said that he was afraid of the IDF and was afraid of the day when the army might approach his location or possibly blow up the building where he is being held.

The PIJ published two videos by Troufanov back in May.

Troufanov was kidnapped on October 7 along with his parents Yelena and Vitali, his grandmother Irena Tati and his partner Sapir Cohen. His father was murdered and his mother, grandmother and partner were released last year in a hostage deal.

Bring the hostages home

Mousa Abu Marzouk, deputy head of Hamas's political bureau, said that in a possible future hostage deal they will prioritize the release of Russian nationals – Troufanov and Maxin Herkin, whose family has secured Russian citizenship on his behalf while he remains in a hostage hold Try to free him.

Another Russian hostage, Alexander Lobanov, was murdered while in captivity and his body was discovered by the IDF along with the bodies of Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Eden Yerushalmi, Almog Sarusi, Carmel Gat and Ori Danino.

After the video was released, his mother Lena, who survived Hamas captivity, said: “I am relieved to see my son alive, but I am very worried to hear what he says. I demand that every effort be made to rescue him.” There is no time left for his immediate release and that of all other hostages.

The Hostage Families Forum said: “Sasha Troufanov's horrific video from captivity underscores the urgency of returning the 101 hostages – and now, as winter approaches, these hostages have long been subjected to horrific conditions of abuse, hunger and darkness are at increasing risk of losing their lives every year. It is unimaginable and incomprehensible that almost a year has passed since the last deal to release hostages. The hostages are running out of time – a deal for their release is the only way to bring them all back to us: the living for rehabilitation and the Murdered for proper burial.”
