West Virginia school hosts simulated bus crash

Student transporters from Lincoln County Schools in West Virginia, along with the Hamlin Volunteer Fire Department, Duval Volunteer Fire Department and Lincoln Emergency Services, staged a simulated bus crash to practice their response, WSAZ 3 reported.

The simulated bus accident reportedly occurred on October 29, with local emergency services, fire departments and real people re-enacting the accident.

Peggy Stone, director of transportation for Lincoln County Schools, told local news reporters that she said it was a wonderful learning experience for everyone.

Jimmy Lacy, state transportation director for the West Virginia Department of Education, also told local news reporters that “this doesn't happen often, but in an emergency, when it actually happens, it's good for the first responders, even the bus drivers and the community.” know how and what will happen in this situation.”
