Real Madrid star Mbappé angers club fans with viral photo

Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe has angered some of the club's fans through a photo he shared on social media that later went viral after it came under scrutiny on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Mbappe became President Florentino Perez's latest Galactico in the summer when he finally completed a dream move from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer that had previously failed to materialize in 2022.

However, life at the Bernabeu has been anything but idyllic so far. Mbappe was part of a treble-winning team under Carlo Ancelotti last season but struggled to adapt to a talented attack that was mistakenly designed to immediately eliminate his rivals.

Mbappe would prefer to play on the left wing but finds that channel occupied by recent Ballon d'Or runner-up Vinicius Jr, forcing the 25-year-old to operate as a number 9.

He was offside eight times against FC Barcelona in the El Clasico, and he was also offside in the subsequent games against AC Milan (another defeat) and in the 4-0 win against Osasuna last weekend, in which Vinicius scored a hat-trick However, the dry spell persists.

SPORT reported that Mbappe is “fed up” and doesn’t like his position. And rather than try to put his club woes behind him with good performances next week with France, he was dropped by head coach Didier Deschamps for November's UEFA Nations League games against Israel and Italy.

Mbappe, described as “emotionally devastated”, is putting his feet up during the international break, but a photo he shared from his break has managed to anger some parts of Los Blancos' fan base.

The photo in question shows Mbappe playing video games with former PSG teammate Achraf Hakimi, which in itself seems pretty innocent.

But an astute fan account points out a fact at all, as it is so far unproven.

“There are many things about Mbappe,” wrote another fan. “He doesn't go to the gym, he says he doesn't need it because he's a football player. He doesn't go with his national team to stay and train and do a little pre-season, but goes to Sweden. He is injured.” but asks to play against Lille.

“This guy is unnecessary at Real Madrid. He doesn't give you anything at all. I hope they sell it in January,” complained another supporter.

However, many supported Mbappe and criticized the poster for criticizing “absolutely everything about a player”.

“People seem to forget that Mbappe scored six goals in the league, which is not bad at all. It is time to support the team and he will be assessed at the end of the season,” they added.

“If you find out all footballers smoke shisha you'll freak out,” said another, while separate photos of Madrid captain Luka Modric and right-back Dani Carvajal with hookahs in hand were shared in the comments section below.

There is of course no evidence that Mbappe took part in the activity either. And some sections of social media that are targeting him believe that only a turnaround in his and Madrid's fortunes through a string of goals and wins could persuade them to back down.
