Semi-truck driver was hospitalized Tuesday after a single-vehicle crash on US-75 in Coffey County

BURLINGTON, Kan. (WIBW) – A truck driver was injured Tuesday morning when the semi-trailer he was driving flipped on its side on a highway in Coffey County, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 10:32 a.m. Tuesday on Highway US-75, about 7 miles south of Burlington.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol's online accident log, a 2007 International tractor-trailer was traveling west on Highway K-58 when it failed to stop at a stop sign on Highway US-75.

The tractor-trailer rolled onto its driver's side as it attempted to turn right – north – onto US-75. The tractor-trailer then came to a stop on the southbound lane of the highway.

The driver, Tyton G. Burton, 23, of LeRoy, was transported to Coffey County Medical Center in Burlington with suspected minor injuries. The patrol said Burton, who was alone on the rig, was not wearing a seatbelt.
