Anderson County suspect asks for bail for second time in fatal DUI crash

PENDLETON, SC (FOX Carolina) – A suspect in a fatal DUI crash is requesting bail months after being initially denied.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, two cars crashed along Lafrance Road on July 19. Both drivers were flown to hospital, where 36-year-old Christopher Price later died.

The Anderson County coroner's office said it appears Price's truck was struck when the other vehicle crossed the center line and struck him head-on.

A month later, officials said the driver of the other vehicle, Matthew Thimons, was arrested for drunken driving resulting in death.

According to Price's obituary, he leaves behind a wife and three children. Unfortunately, he never got to meet his youngest, who was not yet born at the time of the crash.

Thimons will appear in court again on Wednesday morning and request bail.
