AG ends investigation into accused pickleball cheater – WRBI Radio

(Brookville, IN) – The Indiana Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division has completed its investigation and closed the file on Rodney Grubbs.

He's the Brookville pickleball entrepreneur who was accused last year of defrauding investors of nearly $50 million.

It's not clear why the attorney general's office is closing the investigation.

Criminal charges against Grubbs are not affected, but the decision to drop the case still affects dozens of investors trying to get at least some of their money back.

It was in February when a group of investors in the defunct Pickleball Rocks managed to convince a federal judge in Indianapolis to force Grubbs into bankruptcy.

The order required Grubbs to provide a list of his investors and how much he owed them.

Grubbs' total debt was estimated at around $47 million.

To pay off his debts, an online auction was held in July.
