A fatal crash shut down the eastbound airport connection in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Nevada State Police are investigating a fatal crash on the eastbound I-215 airport Wednesday morning.

State troopers responded to the accident around 3:13 a.m. and located a single vehicle that had crashed into a light pole. The death of a man was also confirmed at the scene.

Further details about the crash were initially not known.

Airport interchange 215 westbound remains open to traffic, but those wanting to get to the airport will need to find alternative routes such as Las Vegas Boulevard or Warm Springs.

The public is advised to avoid the area and exercise caution when traveling nearby.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing and is expected to take several hours, according to police.
