FDA inspections of drug manufacturers abroad have not returned to pre-pandemic levels

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) inspects drug manufacturers at home and abroad to ensure the safety and quality of drugs sold in the United States. However, due to travel disruptions and safety concerns, the FDA has paused many of its in-person inspection efforts during COVID-19. Will controls return to normal after COVID ends? GAO's Mary Denigan-Macauley tells us more.
