Slow motion video captures calm snowfall in Truckee

A winter advisory was in effect for upper elevations in northeastern California on Monday, November 11, with up to 8 inches (20 cm) of snow expected, the National Weather Service (NWS) said. Slow motion footage captured by Neil Lareau shows large snowflakes falling in Truckee on Monday. The NWS said areas above 6,500 feet are expected to see accumulations of 2 to 8 inches and wind gusts of up to 45 mph through Monday night. “Plan for slippery road conditions. Snow-covered roads, chain checks and travel delays are possible,” the NWS warned. “The dangerous conditions could impact Monday evening commutes. Gusty winds could knock down tree branches.” Photo credit: Neil Lareau via Storyful
