Man arrested, accused of shooting 2-year-old Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – An 18-year-old was arrested after he allegedly shot into a home and injured a 2-year-old girl in October.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police confirmed the arrest took place on November 11th.

The child was in bed when Demarco Williams allegedly broke into her Wildwood Road home during a drive-by around 2:30 a.m. Oct. 12, hitting his arm. Another bullet pierced her great-grandmother's headboard.

According to police reports, five people were home at the time, but only the toddler was injured. She has now been released from the hospital.

Williams was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or great bodily harm, felony conspiracy, injury to personal property and seven counts of discharging a firearm into inhabited property. He was issued a $500,000 bond and released on November 12th.

He must wear an electronic monitoring device.
